The SWAPO Party Women's Council (SPWC) has called for the deportation of the Chinese businessman accused of forcing a young woman to undress at his shop. In a statement seen by NBC News, the women's council describes the incident as regrettable and disturbing. 24-year-old Ruth George who was until yesterday employed at China Town in Windhoek was humiliated by her employer. He instructed her to undress in full view of customers after she was accused of theft. In a statement, the women's council is calling for the closure of the shop and for the owner to pay damages to the victim. The ruling party's women's wing has also extended a call to the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, to report the accused Chinese national to SADC and the AU, that the national be declared 'Persona non grant" in SADC countries. The women's council says it will take unspecified action, should authorities not act with immediate effect. Members of the Affirmative Repositioning Movement, also closed the shop today where Ruth was undressed.
