Standard Bank Namibia Holding's Chief Executive Mercia Geises has been enlisted in The Africa.com Definitive List of Women CEOs. Geises, who features in the 17th position on the list of 50 women CEOs leading corporate Africa, is part of an initial list of 526 women who run 355 companies as either CEO of publicly listed African corporations, division heads of publicly listed African corporations, or the Africa-region heads or Africa country heads of global corporations. Africa.com says it undertook a rigorous research project to identify the women who run the largest and most complex businesses on the continent and the result of this extensive research undertaking is The Africa.com Definitive List of Women CEOs. Geises joined Standard Bank in July 2016 as Head of Personal and Business Banking before her appointment to her current role in May 2021. An admitted attorney, Geises previously occupied the position of CEO of Old Mutual Investment Group Namibia.
