SWANU welcomes the Second National Land Conference

SWANU of Namibia has welcomed the Government's intention to organise the Second National Land Conference. In a statement, the party appreciates the fact that the Land Reform Ministry consulted other interested parties on the matter. It says SWANU has been a consistent advocate of a Second National Land Conference over the years. The statement notes that when a party delegation visited State House last year, it raised the issue again with President Hage Geingob. In September 2014, SWANU organised a land symposium in Windhoek. Earlier, Land Reform Minister Utoni Nujoma announced that the Government will host the Second National Land Conference before the end of the year. The First National Land Conference in 1991 dealt with issues like the challenges of accessibility to commercial land and the protection of farm workers from exploitation.
