The Namibia Buses and Taxis Association (NABTA) has announced that all bus and taxi fares remain unchanged until government pronounces itself on the issue. This means that the fee for taxis remains at 12 dollars, while long-distance routes remain as per destination. In a media statement, this afternoon NABTA stressed that its decision to withhold its earlier resolution to increase Bus and Taxi fares on 1 November, does not mean it does not recognise transport owners' and drivers' suffering, but was simply decided to avoid unnecessary chaos. Taxi or Bus drivers are therefore urged to not charge passengers more than usual.
