A 56-year-old Namibian female teacher was robbed of over N$20 000 by two men on Saturday around 10h00 at Shinime. The suspects grabbed the victim's handbag containing the money as she was getting out of her car to go to a neighbour's house. The suspects then jumped into a white sedan car without number plates and drove off. The victim and her neighbour tried to chase the suspects but they realised the front tyre of the victim's car was flat, it is alleged that the suspects stabbed the tyre. It is further alleged that the complainant withdrew N$14 500 from Standard Bank and she had N$6 000 cash in her handbag, it is also believed that suspects followed the complaint from the bank. The suspects did not use any weapon. No injuries sustained during the process. No arrest has been made so far. A 42-year-old male Security guard employed at VO Security Services hitchhiked a white Toyota Corolla that looked like a taxi, from Soweto Open Market. It is reported that the victim was to be dropped at Okuryangava, but the driver insisted to drop off a woman who was in the vehicle in Khomasdal first. The driver drove to Khomasdal and suddenly made a stop in the middle of the road, pulled out a pistol and demanded the victim to hand over all his money. The female started a body search on the victim and took his wallet. A second male passenger who was at the back with the victim also pulled out his pistol and also pointed it to the victim, they pushed him out of the vehicle and drove away with his wallet containing cash of N$2800 and personal documents. No arrests have been made and the items were not recovered yet. The incident took place on Friday at around14h00 in Khomasdal. Police investigations continue in both incidents.
