Telecom Namibia is still battling to restore its services in Oshakati, Ongwediva, Ondangwa and some parts of the Ohangwena Region following a weekend incident that damaged its manhole. The damage was caused by an unknown driver who collided into the manhole, which houses Telecom's cables in Okandjengedi, over the weekend. Further damage was caused when a mentally challenged man allegedly set the manhole alight, immediately paralyzing internet services since Monday afternoon. Telecom's far north Area Manager Junias Kalimbo says his team has been hard at work ever since, stressing that the situation will be brought under control before the end of this week.
