Fillemon Nghatanga, a resident of Kuisebmund's Sea Point, allegedly killed his girlfriend on Saturday before hanging himself. According to the police weekend crime report, Nghatanga, a 35-year-old man, slit the throat of Hertha Ndakula Daniel, (33) with a knife at their shack. The couple was allegedly last seen alive on Friday. But on Saturday morning, Nghatanga allegedly contacted one of his friends on his cellphone and requested him to come to their dwelling. Upon arrival, the friend discovered the scene and alerted the Walvis Bay police. The police report says a suicide note was left behind by Nghatanga indicating that he was not happy with the girlfriend's decision to end their relationship.
