Water shortage in Oshikoto

The Oshikoto Region has been experiencing water shortage for the past two months due to pipe bursts and power outages. Oshikoto Regional Head of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Coordination Steven Tuukondjele said the region is now experiencing low water pressure, and the situation warrants to be declared a water crisis by the government because it's ongoing. The most affected are schools, clinics and villagers from Omuntele, Onyaanya, Omuthiya, Okankolo and Eengodi constituencies and part of Nehale lyaMpingana. The Agriculture, Water and Land Reform Ministry started with the transportation of water to communities and schools from the Onankali water supply office to the most affected areas.
