The nbc's Board Chairperson, Lazarus Jacobs says, the corporation has been at the forefront of supporting young people in furthering their career in broadcasting, despite opposite views by some.

Lazarus Jacobs made these remarks at the premiere of 14 short films produced in partnership with 'No Plot Productions' .

Narrating his life story on how the nbc paved way for his career, Jacobs says, opportunity still stands as the broadcaster has launched the careers of many through exposure and the strengthening of skills in the industry.

"To tell you a long story short, I did not know anything about television, or radio, but I was put under the wings of the DG Stanley Similo who taught me everything about TV".

Jacobs was one of the producers who presented Talk of the Nation on nbc TV in the early 90's.

Some people are of the view that it is a waste of money for nbc to be allocated a budget every year.

However, Jacobs says these people are ignorant, as the broadcaster continues to do its part in disseminating information for all.
"One of the things that I want to see is for us to enhance local content" he added.

This move aims to promote local content further and provide opportunities for emerging talent in the country.
