The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) recorded four robberies in Windhoek’s Katutura residential area last week.
According to a NamPol crime report issued on Sunday, a 22-year-old female Chinese national was allegedly robbed at Single Quarters in Vicky Ipinge Street around 10h00 on Tuesday.
Unknown suspects allegedly attacked the complainant and pointed a knife at her before taking off with two cell phones and an unspecified amount of cash.
In a similar occurrence on the same day around 01h00, a 24-year-old Namibian male was allegedly robbed at gunpoint at the Grysblock residential area near Zanel Beki Primary School.
Unknown suspects allegedly held the complainant at gunpoint and hit him over the head with an iron. They managed to get away with items including a shotgun, a cell phone and three rounds of ammunition.
Furthermore, on Thursday around 23h00, a 33-year-old Namibian male was allegedly robbed of his cell phone in Katutura.
On Friday around 11h00, a 39-year-old Namibian male was allegedly attacked and robbed in Shanghai Street, Windhoek’s Damara Location.
The police report alleges that two suspects grabbed the complainant from behind and took his property without his consent.
"The items include a wallet with an undetermined amount of cash. The two suspects, both of adult age and Namibian males were arrested," the report said.
No arrests or recoveries were made in the other cases, and police investigations continue.
