The Executive Director of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO), Penda Naanda, is calling on senior officials to re-dedicate themselves to ensure that the over 130 joint decisions taken to strengthen bilateral cooperation are implemented timely.

Naanda addressed the closing of the third session of the Namibia-South Africa Bi-National Commission in the capital.

Naanda says the three days of deliberations allowed those involved to explore vital areas affecting development in both countries.

He said it is time to fulfill people's expectations by turning their deliberations into action.

Areas of interest such as economic and infrastructure development, transport and communication, health, minerals and energy, tourism and forestry, agriculture, and water development were all revisited.

The joint commission also exchanged views on a multitude of issues of mutual interest and concern, prevailing both at regional and multilateral levels.

The MIRCO Executive Director says the Joint Commission agreed to consult regularly to address issues with the potential to affect bilateral cooperation.
