President Hage Geingob says Namibia counts on Germany's expertise to develop the new Green Hydrogen and related industries.
Dr. Geingob today received a courtesy visit by visiting German Minister of Education and Research, Bettina Stark-Watzinger at State House.
Namibia and Germany have a joint communique of intent in place in 2021 in which the BMBF availed grant funding of N$786 million.
The grant funding, through the National Planning Commission of Namibia, is geared towards deepening Green Hydrogen and synthetic fuels industry cooperation between the two countries.
Germany sees Namibia as a key strategic partner in its global quest to be energy secure and the ultimate clean energy transition.
The visiting German Minister says this would also open up cooperation in other strategic areas between Germany and Namibia.
One of the key priority areas of the agreement between Namibia and Germany is the emphasis placed on capacity building", which the government says would benefit Namibians through programs in green hydrogen and related industries.
