The Miss Namibia team has concluded its visit to the Omaheke Region.
The team met prospective Miss Namibia and Miss Teen participants at Otjinene and Gobabis, respectively.
Speaking to nbc News, the Chief Executive Officer of the Miss Namibia Organization, Umbi Karuaihe Upi, explained that during this engagement, the ladies would be furnished with information regarding the beauty pageant competition and encouraged to participate.
"Today we have seen how poised they are and how confident they are, and what the competition brings for them is actually to breed leadership; they have the confidence to be leaders, so yes, I would like the Namibian population as well as sponsors to come on board because we are a youthful nation and for this youth, we have to do something; we can't just be sitting around and doing nothing; we have to see how we can help at each platform; they are the ones to go out there and become role models for the others; we have to really invest in our children."
The Otjinene Village Council and Chief Executive Officer Inge Kaveterua welcomed the initiative by the Miss Namibia Organization to reach out to most corners of the country to engage the ladies.
"We are privileged and honored to be visited by the Miss Namibia team. They are here promoting Miss Teen. It's a good idea for a project. They need to go out to remote areas here in Otjinene. We have potential."
The Miss Namibia team is expected to visit Mariental and Keetmanshoop.
