Western Suburbs beat the northern visitors 54-24 in their opening premier league match on Saturday.

After six months break, the Namibian Rugby Premier League kicked off this weekend . 

Th league saw 4 games featuring 8 teams from across the country taking to the field in an effort to claim their first win for the season.

At Suburbs Park, the game opened with the debutant left winger Heino Keister running down the wing and breaking through the visiting Grootfontein's defense. 

Soon after Grootfontein leveled things up through prop Adriaan Potgieter's try. 

Suburbs went on to score another three tries to push their tally up while Grootfontein could only manage one more trie before the break for a halftime score 28-12 in favor of the host.

The second half saw Grootfontein opening the scoring through lock Oliver Mouton. 

Suburbs responded with 4 tries as Grootfontein ended the affair with a last minute consolation try, Final score Western Suburbs 54, Grootfontein-24

UNAM beat Falcons with a stagering 78 point to 5 at the UNAM main campus, while United stunned Kudus, beating them 26-21.
