The Secretary General of the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum, Boemo Sekgoma, has expressed delight and emphasised the pivotal role parliaments play in transforming the lives of citizens.

In a statement released on the occasion of the International Day of Parliamentarism, Sekgoma emphasised the significance of parliamentary engagement in fostering democracy, upholding the rule of law, and addressing socio-economic challenges.

Sekgoma underscored the transformative power of parliaments in shaping the future of nations, and she lauded the efforts of parliamentary systems in ensuring transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.

The Secretary-General also stressed the need for parliaments to play an active role in tackling pressing global issues.
