Members of Parliament in the National Assembly have, over the course of the 7th Session, tabled 18 bills, of which two were private.

The lower house has now gone on recess until the 5th of September.

The 7th session, which commenced on June 27, saw MPs deliberating on a range of crucial bills.

Of the 18 bills tabled, two were private members' bills.

Eight bills were passed without amendments, nine with amendments, and another, the Civil Registration and Identification Bill, was withdrawn.

Additionally, two International Instruments were tabled and successfully adopted.

Furthermore, 19 motions were presented.

Of these, four were withdrawn, six were agreed upon, one lapsed, and eight were referred to parliamentary standing committees.

Seven Annual reports were also tabled during this period.

Parliamentary Standing Committees will, during the month of August, begin their oversight responsibilities to engage various stakeholders.
