The Ministry of Health and Social Services has upgraded the Keetmanshoop District Hospital to a referral hospital.
 
The Regional Health Directorate presented a progress report on capital projects for both the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 financial years during the Regional Development Coordination Committee meeting.

Among the projects for which budgetary allocations were made in the 2022/2023 financial year and that are still under construction are the N$70 million Aussenkehr Health Centre, TB wards at Keetmanshoop, and the construction of staff accommodation at Araimsvlei and Noordoewer.
 
The TB wards are nearing completion, while the Aussenkehr Health Centre is deemed 47% complete.

The construction of staff accommodations at Araimsvlei and Noordoewer is ongoing, while the Keetmanshoop Hospital Southern Gate is almost complete.
