The 26 Brigade won the newly introduced sport code "catapult"- much to the excitement of their supporters at the ongoing annual NDF Sports Games, at the Oshakati Independence Stadium .

The newly introduced sport code "Catapult" drew a crowd of onlookers and supporters to the Oshakati Independence stadium because of its unique way of play. For some, it also brought back childhood memories.

Catapult is set in a shooting ranch format where two groups of participants line up side by side to shoot down targets.

Both male and female participants are given 1 minute and 20 seconds to knock down their targets.

The game is regulated, whereby the women stand 5 meters away while the men stand 8 meters from their target.

Speaking after the game was coach Malakia Loto Amukwaya, who was happy his team 26th brigade raked in the win.

Meanwhile, at the same event coach of the Reconnaissance Regiment team, Esther Mutilifa said despite the loss, her team did well.

Lastly, NBC Sport spoke to NDF Sport organizer Medusal Shimanya, who praised the successful hosting and introduction of the catapult as a sport code.

The NDF Annual Sports Games are expected to end with a prize-giving ceremony this week.
