Dr. Hage Geingob, the president of Namibia, expressed his deep gratitude for the National Rugby team as they prepared to compete in their seventh consecutive Rugby World Cup. He appreciated the difficulties they encountered while pursuing their certification and carefully monitored their development. During the rugby team's goodbye visit to the State House prior to their departure for France, the president made these remarks.

Namibia is getting ready to take part in the Rugby World Cup competition being held in France for the seventh time in a row. The team gave President Geingob their playing jersey while being joined by Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service Agnes Tjongarero and her deputy Emma Kantema-Gaomas.

The team's efforts to represent not only Namibia but the entire African continent on the international platform earned President Geingob's thanks.

Since their first appearance in the competition in 1999, the Namibian squad has been searching for that elusive triumph. They are in Pool A in this particular edition, along with the hosts France, three-time champions New Zealand, Italy, and U

The team's departure is scheduled for  28th August 2023 to France as they gear up to take on difficult foes with tenacity and drive.
