The Okinawan GoJu-Ryu Karate Namibia is thrilled to announce that they will be hosting the highly anticipated National Championships. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place on the 2nd of September at the Windhoek Show Grounds. With over 80 entries registered, this promises to be a thrilling competition for karate enthusiasts across the country.

Participants in the National Championships will showcase their skills and compete for top honors in various belt rankings, ranging from white to black belt. In addition to the traditional events, there will be some exciting new additions to the program. One such activity is the kata family event, where groups of 15 relatives perform kata together, adding a unique twist to the competition.

Sensei Stefan Van der Merwe recently spoke to nbc, expressing his excitement for the upcoming event and highlighting the caliber of participants expected to compete. He said, "We expect a high level of karate on the day, with many athletes who are currently national team members and have been participating internationally this year."

The top three winners at the National Championships will have the opportunity to participate in the highly regarded National Karate Federation Championships. Van der Merwe explained the importance of these championships, stating, "We have seen several national team members consistently participating, and we are expecting a high-standard competition. It is crucial for us to rank athletes to determine their readiness for the NKF final championships."

Mark your calendars, as the National Karate Federation Championships are scheduled to take place in October. This event will bring together the best of the best, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of karate practitioners in Namibia.

The Okinawan GoJu-Ryu Karate Namibia is honored to host these championships and looks forward to providing a platform for karate athletes to demonstrate their skills, passion, and commitment to the art of karate.
