The Build It Oshakati under 13 football and netball tournament took place over the weekend, showcasing impressive performances from Oikango Combined School and International Primary School, who emerged as the overall champions of the tournament.
The second edition of the Build It Football and Netball tournament is an ongoing development project aimed at providing school learners in the region with opportunities to thrive in sports from a young age. This tournament focuses on under-13 school learners from various schools in the Oshana region, allowing them to interact and compete in a fair and controlled environment. Approximately 200 kids participated in this second edition, and organizers have promised to introduce more sports codes and include additional schools in the upcoming editions.
In the final netball match, a thrilling encounter unfolded between International Primary School and Omagongati, with International Primary School securing a narrow 4-3 victory. Meanwhile, in the football match, the host team Oikango Combined School delivered a surprise performance against International Primary School. The intense match concluded with a penalty shoot-out, resulting in Oikango Combined emerging as the winners with a final score of 4-2.

Lastly the Tournament culminated in a grand prize-giving ceremony, where Oikango Combined School and International Primary School were awarded the coveted overall trophies, medals, and cash prizes
