The Vice President of the Namibian Public Passenger Transport Association (NPPT) in the Kavango East Region, Tobias Katembo, says the money collected from taxi drivers is used to pay for the administration of all functions, such as the issuing of yellow stickers.

"The yellow sticker was agreed upon by the owner because we came together with the owners and the association to agree on what we could do so that at least our business would go forward, and when we came to an agreement that no, we needed to put me.

The yellow sticker, even the fee of the yellow sticker, we agreed upon together with the owner of the business.

That's why with that complaint with my drivers, it's not bad, but the yellow sticker was agreed upon by the owner, so these are just drivers who are just given cars to drive.

A driver cannot be allowed to pay the yellow sticker, but it's the owner of the business."

Katembo stated that the association will hold a meeting with the taxi drivers and the taxi owners about the matters raised.

NPPTA's last meeting was held in December 2022.
