Swapo Party Vice President and Presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah, has congratulated the Otjozondjupa Regional Leadership for restoring peace and unity among its members.

Nandi-Ndaitwah was speaking at the Otjiwarongo Rally held at the DRC Informal Settlement.

"I was happy to hear from Comrade Imms when he emphasised the point that unity is what governs the Otjozondjupa Region. Congratulations, Comrade, and we must keep it up. Unity of purpose and action is very important if we have to achieve our set goals."

Otjozondjupa Regional Coordinator for the Swapo Party, Immanuel Namaseb, assured the gathering that members in the region are united more than ever before.

"We have come a long way from the days of discord, and it's a testimony to our unwavering commitment to our great party, Swapo. We exercised our democratic rights as party members by participating in the Swapo Congress last year. The Congress has spoken, comrades. Congress has spoken, and it speaks loudly and clearly. As a united regional leadership, we accept and honour the outcome of the Swapo Party Congress."

Nandi-Ndaitwah said the rally attendance is a reflection that people continue to have confidence in the Swapo Party, adding that as members, the party must not be divided or break apart.

"We must all now commit ourselves to hard work as a united people. Our ultimate political goal must be to regain what we lost in the 2019 and 2020 elections. As party members, we are obliged to observe and comply with the decisions, resolutions, and directives of the Swapo Party at all times. Detractors will always be there, coming in different forms, but true party members must remain firm and focused for our party to remain a dominant force in the Namibian political landscape."

At the event, Nandi-Ndaitwah welcomed about 200 new members from NUDO.
