The 2023 Confederation of African Football Awards is set to take place on the 11th of December in Marrakech, Morocco. Namibians Zentha Coleman and Peter Shalulile are representing the country with their nominations.
Earlier this month, CAF unveiled the 2023 nominees in the men's category. Bagging two nominations was Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile, who made it into the "Player of the year" and "Interclub player of the year" categories.
However, the final shortlist for the CAF awards was recently announced, only making Shalulile eligible in the "Interclub player of the year" category, alongside South African, Percy Tau.
The Brave Warriors also received a nomination earlier this month as National Team of the Year but they ultimately did not make the shortlist. This leaves The Gambia, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania, Morocco and Senegal as the finalists.
In the women's category Brave Gladiators captain Zenatha Coleman is nominated among Africa's best in the CAF women's player of the year category.
As it stands, CAF is yet to announce the final shortlist of the women's players before the momentous evening for African Football can take place.
