Debmarine Premiership log-leaders, Ongos, have set their sights on collecting maximum points in their upcoming matches against Okahandja United and Blue Waters this weekend.

Despite having seven regular players on the injury list, Ongos' head coach, Paulus Shipanga, expressed confidence in his team's readiness for the challenges ahead.

Shipanga acknowledged that being at the top of the league standings brings extra pressure, as every team wants to give their best against the leaders. In particular, the match against Blue Waters holds extra significance for Shipanga, as his uncle coaches the opposing team.

He mentioned past victories against Blue Waters during his time with Tura Magic and Black Africa, and he aims to prove a point once again with Ongos.

In addition to their on-field efforts, Ongos representative Tyc Kakehongo has been actively scouting for talent in the informal settlement areas, in collaboration with the Samora Machel league.

This talent search initiative started on November 10th, with a focus on identifying young players under the age of 21 from teams participating in the Samora league. Ongos aims to make this talent search a yearly endeavor, reaching out to communities such as Havana, Goreangab, Greenwell, and Hakahana.

While Ongos' target for the season is to finish among the top five teams in the league, they view winning the title as an added bonus.
