The national under-20 rugby team in Namibia is currently undergoing an intensive alignment camp at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek.

Led by Head Coach Ryan de la Harpe and his team of seasoned coaches, the squad has been working tirelessly to prepare for the upcoming Rugby Africa Barthes Trophy in April 2024.

The alignment camp, which has been ongoing for the past two weeks, aims to identify and develop the best junior rugby talent in the country.

The coaching staff, including Jaco Engels, Darryle de la Harpe, and Strength and Conditioning coach Sergio de la Harpe, has been actively scouting players throughout the school's rugby season.

During this camp, the focus extends beyond the physical aspects of the game. The players have also received guidance on essential nutritional habits and the significance of proper recovery after intense workouts.

These holistic approaches ensure that the young athletes are equipped with the knowledge and tools to excel both on and off the field.

Head Coach Ryan de la Harpe, who took charge of the under-20 team last year, provided insights into the camp's objectives and activities.

He emphasized the importance of targeting key aspects of the game and developing well-rounded players.

Players Otja Auala and Van der Merwe Tromp shared their thoughts on the camp and the efforts they have been putting in.

The alignment camp will continue until the 18th of next month, with the team resuming training as early as the 8th of January next year.
