Freddy Mwiya, the Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sport Commission, has declared 2023 as a successful year for the Commission.

Despite facing challenging circumstances, they managed to achieve numerous milestones in the sport industry.

Mwiya specifically highlighted the Commission's financial support for various federations through the line ministry.

This support allowed a significant number of federations to participate in international competitions. Additionally, the Commission provided supportive letters to federations, assisting them in securing corporate sponsorship to aid their international endeavors.

One notable achievement mentioned by Mwiya was the qualification of the Richelieu Eagles for their third consecutive T20 Cricket World Cup, set to take place in the West Indies and USA.

This accomplishment is something that the country can take pride in.

As most sports federations are currently on a well-deserved break, Mwiya conveyed a festive message to all Namibians.

The Sport Commission's offices will reopen for the New Year on January 15, 2024.
