Esparanza Martins has been crowned Miss Petite 2024, securing the opportunity to represent Namibia in Malaysia in May.

Martins, in her debut pageant, clinched the title with Angelica Varela as her first runner-up and Helena Shiya as the second runner-up.

Reflecting on her journey, Martins spoke about the challenges of her first-time participation in a pageant, emphasising the demanding nature of the experience.

The Miss Petite competition aims to provide a platform for women who traditionally do not conform to the standards of mainstream pageants like Miss Namibia.

It underscores the significance of using the attention garnered by beauty queens to advocate for and champion various causes, moving beyond mere physical beauty.

The competition has been instrumental in promoting diverse concepts aimed at driving positive change within communities.

Outgoing Miss Petite, Kai Zamue, stressed the life-changing and growth-oriented nature of representing Namibia on the global stage.

This is Namibia's second Miss Petite, with the first being in 2023.
