The Forum for German-speaking Namibians says the late President Hage Geingob must be credited for his efforts to restore investor confidence.

The Forum, in a message of condolences, says President Geingob was personally responsible for international multinational companies in the green hydrogen and oil and gas sectors in Namibia.

It also says the late President preferred to be President for all and requested all Namibians to take up their rightful places in the Namibian House.

Other messages are continuing to pour in from across the globe, the latest being from the Middle East, where Palestine's President Mahmoud Abbas lives.

Abbas says the State of Palestine received the news of the passing of the late Dr. Geingob with great sorrow, adding that the country shared in the sadness.

Palestine's Foreign Minister, Dr. Riad Maliki, also expressed shock and described the late Geingob as a distinguished politician, a liberation struggle icon, and the pillar of the Namibian House.

Dr. Maliki said Dr. Geingob was one of the true friends and supporters of the Palestinian people in their struggle against apartheid and occupation.

The African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO) also extended condolences to the family of Dr. Geingob, describing the late President as a leader who left an indelible mark on the continent.

They added that the late Namibian leader leaves behind a legacy of remarkable leadership, tireless dedication, and an unwavering commitment to Africa.

The organisation pointed out that a cornerstone of President Geingob's legacy was his commitment to making energy poverty history in Africa.

Meanwhile, former Cuban Ambassador to Namibia, Giraldo Mazola, said in a statement from the island of Cuba that he has indelible memories of the late Geingob's friendly and respectful treatment.

Mazola said Dr. Geingob's speech in the Plaza de la Revolucion in Havana when he attended the funeral ceremony of the late Fidel Castro and the one he made at the memorial events in his honour in Windhoek further evidenced the friendship and solidarity of the Namibian people with the Cuban people.
