Situated less than ten kilometers from the Namibia-Angola border, Ponhofi Senior Secondary School played host to over 30 schools from different central-northern regions on 12-13th April.

These schools came together for the annual Ponhofi Schools Tournament, which aims to foster a positive sporting environment and encourage fitness and teamwork among schools and regions.

Four sport - football, netball, basketball, and volleyball - were contested simultaneously at various courts and fields.

At the venue, Erickson Tapiso spoke with Petrus Shaningilwe from Eengedjo Secondary School to understand the tournament's goals. Tuli Ngilalulwa, a basketball organizer, highlighted the initial idea behind the annual tournament.

Beyond competition, the Ponhofi Annual Schools Tournament instills valuable lessons in sportsmanship, fair play, respect, and discipline among participating schools and regions.
