The Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sport Commission, Freddy Mwiya, said that they are looking forward to a busy period for the Commission in the next two months.

He said that there will be a lot of activities on and off the field of play, from stakeholder meetings to regional participation.

The Chief Administrator also said that apart from the events for the next two months, the Commission is also looking ahead to plans for next year, with the National Youth Games, which Namibia will be hosting, among the highlights for 2025.

A virtual meeting with all regional chairpersons, sport officers, and conveners is set for today, which is expected to pen out plans for the Youth Games as part of the upcoming busy schedule.

Mwiya also added that the working relationship between the Commission and sport federations and umbrella bodies is much better now than it was a year or two ago.

Formalising plans that will give free entrance and access to former national sports heroes is also getting the utmost attention, and the Commission is working on the mechanism to implement that policy once it gets approval from everyone involved.
