The Basketball Artist School hosted a fun day over the weekend with the aim of strengthening the bond between parents, teachers, and pupils.
The Basketball Artist School Foundation (BAS) runs a basketball for development program in Katutura, Windhoek.
Each year, the project gives opportunities to 200 children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
What started out as a community project now also is home to a day care centre that caters to children aged 0 to 5 years old.
The school hosted their athletics day, with children taking part in various sports activities.
According to the Basketball Artist School's head of daycare, Thandi Boois, the intention is to allow parents and children to bond away from the home and classrooms.
According to Boois, establishing mutually respectful partnerships between families and educators is of utmost importance.
