One of the oldest racing sports in Namibia, the Tara Rally, commence in Windhoek last weekend and promises to captivate adrenaline lovers.

The event started last week Thursday and witnessed  drivers compete in over 18 stages of the grueling competition, including the sedan and bakkie (S or CR) categories.

The media liaison officer of the Tara Rally, Francois Lottering, said the event so far has been exciting.

Paul Van Wyk, a driver from South Africa participated for the  first time taking part in the event.

2023's Tara Rally winner Wilro Dippnaar and his navigator Carolyn Swan will be looking to defend their title at this year's edition they said.
