African Stars qualified for the final of the PstBet NFA Cup competition after defeating Khomas Nampol 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

The much-anticipated clash between Debmarine Premiership champions African Stars and Khomas Nampol in the second semi-final was a memorable one for the fans at the Mariental Sport Stadium on Sunday.

Khomas Nampol showcased their strong season by taking the lead through George France, who bundled in a scrappy ball.

The defending champions, African Stars, responded with determination, leveling matters through their captain, Ronald Ketjijere. 

The two teams remained deadlocked at  one all going into halftime.

The second half saw the most telling opportunity fall to Nampol's Rivaldo Prins, who was denied by Stars goalkeeper Kamaaijanda Ndisiro when one-on-one.

The score remained 1-1 after regulation time, forcing the match into extra time.

Salazar Ngunzu thought he had won it for Nampol deep into extra time, but his goal was disallowed for offside.

After 120 minutes without a winner, the game went to a penalty shootout.

Stars striker Awilo Stephanus was the first to step up and scored.

Terdius Uiseb made no mistake and sent the keeper the wrong way.

Ibrahim Yousef missed his spot kick blazing over the bar.

Eliakhim Ndjavera gave Nampol the advantage with a precise penalty.

Jackson Johannes kept Stars interest known by dispatching this penalty.

Free kick specialist Absalom Iimbondi missed from the spot , giving Stalile the advantage.

Ndjiraere Maharero scored the defining goal to put Stars in control.

Nampol's fate was left on Eekandjo Iiyambo's boots but Kamaaijanda Ndisiro saved the day for African Stars who won 3-2.

African Stars' Head Coach, Ronnie Kanalelo, acknowledged it was a hard-fought victory.

Khomas Nampol Head Coach, Fortune Eichab, stated that his team gave their best effort but were unlucky in front of goal.

African Stars will now face Young Brazilians, who defeated Eeshoke Chula Chula in the first semi-final played on Saturday.
