The Karate community who attended the African Federation Karate Region South Games in Swakopmund over the weekend showered praise on the Namibian Karate Federation for what they called excellent organization.
Hosted by the Namibia Karate Federation, the African Federation Region South event started on Friday and concluded on Saturday. The event was hosted at the high-performance center at the MTC Dome in the coastal town of Swakopmund.
Over the two days, countries that participated included South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and the host Namibia. They not only had the chance to showcase their skills, they also took time to enjoy what the coastal town has to offer.
Vice-President of the World Karate Federation, Bashir Cherif, commended Namibia for successfully organizing the major tournament and encouraged the country to continue striving for greatness.
Sonny Pillay, President of the South African Karate Federation, expressed his admiration for the quality of facilities, suggesting that Namibia possesses all the necessary attributes to host continental competitions.
Llewellyn Manale, President of the Namibia Karate Federation, welcomed the positive feedback and promised to continuously raise the standards.The Namibia Karate Federation is currently in a bidding process to host an African Karate championship on a date yet to be confirmed
