Luis Forcelledo, from the After School Centre in Katutura, announced that wrestlers from Angola and South Africa will join the upcoming Namibian Under-15 training camp in Windhoek.

The Namibia Wrestling Federation provides a platform for wrestlers to display their talent and compete at a high level.

They are planning a training camp for under-15 wrestlers, which will include participants from South Africa and Angola, in preparation for the 2026 African Youth Games.

To date, the Federation has participated in four different competitions and continues to strive towards assembling a stronger team for the upcoming Olympic Games.

According to Luis Forcelledo, coach at the After School Centre, a selection will be made for a team that will compete in a major competition in South Africa.

"We will select one team, and that team will go to South Africa to compete in a major competition. As of now, the information I received from the president of the Federation, we will be joined by teams from Germany, Egypt, Netherlands, Angola, and Namibia” Forcelledo said.

Forcelledo, who coaches Ester Abraham, a bronze medallist at the recent Beach Wrestling Championship in Senegal, expressed enthusiasm for her achievement.

Despite being unable to accompany her due to an expired passport, she was supported by Chall Van Der Merwe.

He also emphasized that the centre has many talented wrestlers who need more tournaments to prepare  for the next Olympic Games in four years.
