The 2024 National Pool League continued over the weekend with round four action, while the Coastal Hundred Social Cricket League concluded  with the final played in Walvis Bay.

The six coastal pool clubs from Swakopmund and Walvis Bay faced off in the National Pool League's round four action on Saturday.

The one-day competition featured impressive action, with all clubs showcasing high-quality play.

Clubs entered the competition with strong performances in earlier rounds, setting the stage for thrilling encounters.

The games began with a tense atmosphere as all the clubs showcased their skills and strategies.

As the day progressed, individual brilliance and strategic plays from both sides were on full display.

Players from both Sparta and the Swakopmund clubs delivered standout performances throughout the day.

All clubs demonstrated high levels of sportsmanship and skill, making Round 4 a memorable chapter in the ongoing pool competition.

Elsewhere, the Coastal Social Hundred League cricket tournament concluded yesterday with the final match between Kaas en Wyn and the Originals Gangsta's, which Kaas en Wyn won by 49 runs.

This exciting and innovative cricket tournament is designed to bring together players of all skill levels for a fun and competitive experience.

Unlike traditional cricket formats, the Social Hundred emphasizes shorter, fast-paced matches, creating a more dynamic and engaging environment for participants and spectators alike.

Kaas en Wyn posted a mammoth total in their inning with a score of 206 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

The top run getters for Kaas en Wyn were Jaco le Roux with 42 runs and Reynard van Zyl with 40 runs.

In their run chase, Original Gangsta's started off well with opening batsman Chivi Samson hitting 49 runs.

With the loss of wickets around him, the run rate climbed as wickets continued to fall.

David Fortuin was the only other batsman to score runs, finishing with an unbeaten 43.

The Original Gangstas managed to score only 157 runs in 86 balls before being bowled out.

Sparta Cricket Club hosted the event, featuring six teams competing over two months in 2024.
