Basketball in Namibia has experienced significant growth over the years, thriving not only at the senior level but also at the grassroots level.

However a lack of female coaches in the sport has sparked concern. 

FIBA Level One Coaching course is currently taking place at the UNAM main campus with coaches from different regions taking part.

Some female coaches present at the course spoke on the lack of women empowerment in the sport.

The future of Basketball in Namibia is full of potential and opportunity and the FIBA Level One coaching course aims to bridge the gap in this regard.
