It was the last day of the general registration of voters (GRV), and several queues were still being observed at registration points around Windhoek.

Since last week, Namibians have been flocking to registration points to get their voter cards, which led to the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) achieving 81% of the intended target by July 27.

Eligible voters say despite waiting for the last day to register, they are right on time to get their voter cards.

ECN's team leader at the Khomas Grove registration point, Hafeni Nyemwatya, reflected on the 52-day GRV period.

"Namibians are eager to vote and knowledgeable through the whole process. We did not have a lot of issues or complications. We registered a lot of our constituency people."
