The Namibian Gymnastics Federation held its second qualifying competition for Trampoline and Tumbling over the weekend at Jan Wilkens Stadium in Walvis Bay.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 60 gymnasts representing four clubs nationwide.

This competition is a key step in determining eligibility and awards for the season's National Championships scheduled for the end of October.

With nearly 700 gymnasts registered with the Namibian Gymnastics Federation, 85 are focused on Trampoline and Tumbling disciplines.

The year 2024 marks the first full year of resumed international participation after a two-year suspension.

At the two day competition, participants demonstrated remarkable athleticism with challenging routines.

The next international event, the Region 5 Gymnastics Championships, is set for December in Harare, Zimbabwe.

It will offer gymnasts aged nine and older a chance to compete at a regional level.

National Trials for this event will occur during the third Trampoline and Tumbling qualifying competition, scheduled for September 20 & 21 in Windhoek.
