The FC Ongos Ladies team began their COSAFA leg of the CAF Women's Champions League qualifiers with a 3-1 defeat to Herentals Queens of Zimbabwe in Blantyre, Malawi.

The game didn't start as hoped for the Ongos Ladies team, as they went into halftime trailing 2-0, with goals from Maudy Mafuruse and Tumbare Egness in the 21st and 29th minutes, respectively. 

 In the second half, Herentals Queens extended their lead to 3-0 in the 69th minute when substitute Melody Chikore added her name to the scoresheet. 

 Ongos Ladies managed to pull one back in the final minute of the game through defender Ndapewa Katuta. 

After the game, Coach Agnus Elemu attributed the loss to defensive errors by his team and set his sights on their next match. SB: 

 Ongos Ladies will play their second game of the tournament on Saturday against the University of Western Cape
