The Swapo Party leadership in the Otjozondjupa Region announced the six proposed names to represent them at the national party electoral college set for the beginning of September 2024 in Windhoek.
Swapo’s Information and Mobilisation Officer in Otjozondjupa, Elizabeth Shinana, said in an interview with Nampa on Monday that the elected members are Elder Filipe, Issaskar Kaujeua, Seppie Swartbooi, Martha Mwandingi, Albertina Nangolo, and Othilie Kariko.
Filipe is from Grootfontein, Kaujeua from Omatako Constituency, Swartbooi from Tsumkwe, and Mwandingi from Okahandja, while Nangolo and Kariko are from Otjiwarongo.
“Their names will be submitted to the party headquarters in Windhoek for vetting, and from those names that will go through, the Otjozondjupa regional Swapo Party conference will be called, and it is where the final two names will be voted for,” said Shinana.
Shinana further explained that four other names of delegates will also be voted in at the regional conference to join the two final names, making up six representatives in total for Otjozondjupa to the party electoral college.
The Otjozondjupa Swapo Party conference is planned for August 24, 2024, in Otjiwarongo, said Shinana.
