Walvis Bay hosted the 2024 Region Five Africa Genesis Archery competition, drawing 200 archers from five countries.

The four-day event saw intense competition among Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Archers were divided into three teams: the Africa Genesis Archery team, the development team, and the national team. South Africa, the previous host and winner, faced increased competition this year with more archers from each country.

After four days of intense competition, the results were as follows: AGA Competition: South Africa emerged victorious, followed by Botswana and Namibia.

Development Team Competition: Namibia secured first place, with South Africa and Zimbabwe in second and third, respectively.

National Team Competition: South Africa again claimed the top spot, with Namibia and Botswana in second and third.

Poenie Weakley, Chairman of the Namibia Archery Federation, praised the high level of competition and the exceptional performance of all participating archers.

The competition also served as a qualifying event for upcoming major archery tournaments.
