The Head of Economic Affairs at the Indonesia Embassy, Ari Hadiman, has described the recent 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum as a success.
The forum saw the signing of agreements between Indonesia and Africa in various sectors to the tune of about N$52 billion.
The 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum, attended by 16 countries, was aimed at enhancing cooperation between Indonesia and Africa.
It also serves as a venue to engage government officials, business leaders, and stakeholders from both regions.
The forum also featured an exhibition of Indonesia's top products in the areas of food, security, energy, health, mining, and development cooperation.
"Notably, three entrepreneurs from Namibia and one from Angola attended the exhibition. During the event, a business agreement was signed for the purchase of health supplements and beverages by Namibia's future Image Investment from Indonesia's Mensa company."
Hadiman revealed that major outcomes were the signing of more than 20 cooperation agreements, including six in energy, four in the strategic industry sector, and nine in the health sector.
The Indonesia Embassy also plans to host a special cultural event titled Harmony of Nausantara: Colors of Indonesia.
"The embassy considers the event an important venue to promote Indonesia's diverse cultural heritage, promote mutual respect and appreciation among different cultures, encourage tourism, and foster closer people-to-people relations," says head of information, social, and cultural affairs Kurnya Kusuma Dewy.
The event will be held at the National Theatre of Namibia in Windhoek on the 26 of September.
