The National Housing Enterprise (NHE) marked a significant milestone in presenting its long-awaited financial report at its Annual General Meeting.

The report, which includes audited financial statements from 2017 to 2023, represents a major step forward in the entity's efforts to bring its financial records up to date.

The backlog in financial reporting had been a long-standing issue for the NHE, causing concern among stakeholders and hampering the organization's ability to fulfill its mandate effectively.

However, a dedicated effort involving a series of simultaneous audits has now cleared this backlog, resulting in the publication of seven audited financial statements covering multiple financial years.

Addressing the attendees, the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, commended the NHE team for their hard work and dedication in achieving this milestone.

The minister urged all stakeholders to continue supporting NHE as it embarks on a new chapter of accountability and growth.

The release of the financial report is expected to enhance transparency and accountability within the NHE, providing a clear picture of the entity's financial health and operational progress over the past seven years.
