The second edition of the KWU African Kyokushin Championship concluded in the capital with impressive displays of martial arts skills from participants representing five African countries.

The event featured various age groups and categories, including boys and girls aged 14-15, junior boys and girls aged 16-17, men and women over 18, and veterans men aged 35 and above.

The championship featured competitors from Tunisia, South Africa, Guinea, Zambia, Angola and the host nation, Namibia.

On the final day of the event, all karatekas were welcomed by the Namibia Correctional Services Brass Band before demonstrating their martial arts skills on the mat.

The second edition of the Kyokushin event was not only a continental championship but also an international celebration of Kyokushin.

Some of Namibia's junior athletes shared their reactions after winning gold medals in their respective categories.

Participants from three of the African countries that performed impressively also expressed their excitement about winning gold medals for their nations during the competition.

International Kyokushin organizations were invited to participate, making it an inclusive gathering.

The event provided an opportunity for seasoned competitors and spectators to witness top-tier martial arts skills alongside the global Kyokushin community.
