Learners of Kehemu Project School in the Kavango East Region celebrated Arbor Day by planting 55 fruit trees.

The observation of Arbor Day varies in different countries due to variations in climate and suitable planting seasons.

In Namibia, it is always celebrated in the second week of October.

The celebration of Arbor Day at Kehemu Project School was made possible with the assistance of the Ministry of Agriculture, whose officials advised the learners to have a culture of planting trees when celebrating their birthday as a good act in bettering the climate.

Some of the fruit trees planted are mango, guava, and granadilla trees.
