Launched last month in the capital, the Dr. Hage Geingob Cup will take centre stage in its final edition on Saturday, October 19.

The teams competing for top honours in the 10th edition unveiled their official kits today.

The football tournament was established in 2014 to honour the contributions of the late President Dr. Hage Geingob to local sports, particularly football.

Over the years, the tournament has become a highlight of the Namibian sports calendar, showcasing the talent and passion of local football teams.

The final event will feature two of Namibia's biggest crowd-pullers, African Stars and Eeshoke ChulaChula, in the main match of the day.

Eeshoke ChulaChula are the current defending champions, having defeated African Stars 1-0 in the 9th edition last year.

Additionally, in the co-main event, Girls & Goals, now known as Julinho Athletic Ladies, will face Ongos Ladies.

Ongos Ladies will be seeking redemption after their previous defeat at the hands of Julinho Athletic Ladies.

Both the team captains and vice captains spoke about what it means to be part of this event.

Fans can look forward to an exciting day of football, which will also include an exhibition match between an MTC Celebrity "Omake" team and an NBL Danger Point Celebrity team.

As the Dr. Hage Geingob Cup comes to an end, it leaves behind a legacy of sportsmanship, talent, and community engagement.
