Cricket Namibia, in partnership with the Namdia Foundation, inaugurated new nets and playing equipment for the Outjo Development Program.

The sponsorship is valued at N$300,000.

The Outjo Cricket Development program was initiated in 2014 and has seen a significant increase in participants over the years.

Currently accommodating approximately 500 children aged 10 to 19, both boys and girls, the program has produced numerous success stories, with several players progressing to represent the national team.

At yesterday's inauguration of the new facility and equipment, Namdia Foundation Trustee Lelly Usiku emphasised the crucial role this facility will play in Cricket Namibia's high-performance programs.

The mayor of the town, Her Worship, extended her heartfelt gratitude to the Cricket Namibia Community.

Here's what some of the players had to say about the new facility:

Development is a crucial aspect of nurturing young cricketers' talent, and the Coordinator of the Namdia Regional Cricket Centre, Wilhelm Tuhafeni, expressed his satisfaction with the contribution to the program.

With the new facility and equipment, it is believed that more and more children will be honing their skills and hopefully following in the footsteps of those who have represented the country from the town of Outjo and the Kunene region.
