The police are conducting comprehensive public speaking training for senior officers to sharpen their communication skills.
The five-day training is being held in the Hardap Region.
The training, attended by 20 heads of department and directorates, as well as regional commanders, means to instil confidence and techniques in the senior officers, who are required to become effective communicators.
Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo underscored the importance of communication skills, which he said would enhance the officers' ability to serve communities.
"In today's world, where information travels faster than ever before, it is crucial that senior officers remain at the forefront of communication excellence. We must be able to address public concerns, explain our policies, and represent the Namibian Police Force in a manner that reflects the values we uphold. The training will equip you with tools to not only speak but to listen to to understand the diverse perspective of our people."
Lieutenant General Shikongo urged the officers to take full advantage of their training.
